Description |
No upper rack mounts? No problem.
The Old Man Mountain Seat Post Mount creates a clean, secure upper attachment point for Old Man Mountain racks on bikes without traditional upper rack eyelets.
The collar attaches directly to a round seatpost and provides two mounting points for the Extenders of your Old Man Mountain rack. It's a simple alternative to OMM's mounting pucks for compatible bikes, and a particularly tidy solution for riders who would rather attach their rack supports at the seatpost than to the seat stays.
Designed to fit round seatposts from 27.2 mm to 34.9 mm, the Seat Post Mount works with aluminum, steel and carbon seatposts as well as round dropper posts.
It's especially useful when installing an Old Man Mountain rack on gravel bikes, hardtails, touring bikes and other bikes that lack dedicated upper rack mounts.
Small part. Big difference when you're trying to put a rack where the frame designer didn't expect one.

Usage Tips & Compatibility |
The Seat Post Mount is intended to replace the upper attachment point of an Old Man Mountain rack installation. It does not replace the rack's lower mounting system.
When an OMM rack is axle-mounted, the axle carries the majority of the cargo load. The Seat Post Mount and Extenders primarily stabilize the rack and prevent it from rotating.
When to Choose the Seat Post Mount
It's a great option when:
- Your bike doesn't have upper rack eyelets
- You have a compatible round seatpost
- You want a cleaner alternative to mounting pucks on your seat stays
- You're installing an Old Man Mountain rack on a gravel bike, hardtail or rigid adventure bike
- You want to retain compatibility with a round dropper post
When to Choose OMM Mounting Pucks Instead
Old Man Mountain recommends using its mounting pucks if your bike has:
- Rear suspension
- Significant flex built into the seat tube or seatpost
- Less than approximately one inch of exposed, unobstructed seatpost
- A seatpost shape or size that isn't compatible with the Seat Post Mount
If your frame already provides suitable upper rack eyelets, Old Man Mountain recommends using those whenever possible.
