The Salsa Timberjack Eagle 70 Transmission 29 is a hardtail built to handle both singletrack and bikepacking without compromising either side of the equation. Its Timberjack 2.0 aluminum frame uses long, low, and slack trail geometry for confidence on steep and technical terrain, while preserving pedaling efficiency for long rides to backcountry campsites. Salsa’s Alternator dropouts add another layer of versatility, letting riders adapt the bike to different hub standards and drivetrain setups, including single speed.

This build pairs a RockShox Psylo Silver RC fork with 140 mm of travel and a SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission 12 speed drivetrain for trail ready durability and a wide gear range. SRAM DB4 four piston brakes handle stopping duties, while WTB ST Tough i30 rims and Teravail Clifty 29 x 2.5 inch tires deliver traction and support for aggressive riding. Bottle and cargo mounts make it easy to carry gear directly on the bike, so the Timberjack can move between playful trail bike and comfortable bikepacking hardtail duties.
