Sales Associate / Barista
Dismount is searching for passionate barista’s to join our team. We operate a
small coffee pocket at the front of our store and are looking to expand our
morning hours to accommodate our customer base. We’re passionate about
customer service and want to strive to make those who choose to shop with us
feel welcome and taken care of. As our program grows, procedure and
standardization are important so we’re looking for someone detail oriented who
can help us implement processes that keep things running smoothly.
Who we are:
Our aim is to provide an excellent experience for cycling and coffee customers of all demographics and interests. We aim to be approachable, friendly and
knowledgeable about what we offer. We want to set you up with the tools to
experience and enjoy your adventures to the fullest. That can be rolling to the
park as a family or doing a multi-day self-supported trek through the wilderness.
The Role:
As a barista you’ll be looked upon as a customer service expert. Helping perform triage for customers coming into the store since you’ll be the first point of contact. You’ll be reporting to the owners. We are currently closed on Sundays and Mondays to ensure a proper weekend for our staff, but someone who is comfortable working mornings is important as we’re looking to expand our hours. You’ll be responsible for making drinks and serving pastries, as well as keeping things stocked and running smoothly. Because of the nature of our shop, there is always some crossover with the bike side of things and it’s an asset if you’re willing to learn or have a basic level of knowledge about bikes.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide high quality service with keen attention to detail.
- Make and serve high quality drinks in a timely manner
- Operate our point-of-sale system to cash out customers
- Keep stock levels always topped up.
- Cleaning and general servicing all coffee/espresso machines and grinders
- Answering the phone.
- Assisting with cleaning, as well as helping with cardboard/recycling.
- Assisting with putting away newly received product
- Managing inventory levels of coffee accessories.
- Directing customers to sales or service and assisting them to the best of your ability.
You:
- Enjoy interacting with customers and providing excellent service. We take pride in being approachable and courteous, any employee must share those values.
- Are interested in specialty coffee and have a general knowledge of drinks and operating an espresso machine.
- Have high attention to detail and take pride in your work.
- Are constantly on the lookout for ways our shop can run more efficiently.
- Are able to use a computer. Experience with Lightspeed is a bonus.
- Are motivated to learn
- Are organized and tidy.
- Are interested in what we do! Riding Bikes, drinking coffee, camping and getting outside!
Expectations at Dismount:
