This version of the SON 28 is optimized for Boost 110 mm front spacing and 15 mm thru‑axle forks, with centerlock disc rotor support and robust internals. Compared with the lighter SONdelux, it may show slightly more drag—but in return you get stronger light output at lower speeds, making it ideal for adventure, mixed terrain, and bikepacking builds.
With widely spaced flanges to simplify strong wheel builds, sealed bearing construction, and proven German engineering, the SON 28 supports modern gravel and mountain setups while retaining its legacy as a rugged, dependable dynamo hub. Available now at Dismount Bike Shop Toronto.
Pro Tip: Make sure your thru-axle is well-lubed and tight. Otherwise resistance can turn the hub axle in the fork when the light is turned on. This can damage the connectors.
